Suburbs

More people moved to suburbs in the 1950s. This was because the cost of living in cities was too high, the expanding population, and suburbs provided a cheaper cost of living as well as staying close enough to cities to allow people to still work in the cities. Cities also were running out of space so the suburbs provided a way for cities to expand their networks. This led to improved roads and railway becoming popular transportation methods.

The suburbs also provided a safe community where roles were defined and conformity was a main component. This made many people move to the suburbs to help them connect and feel welcome. This expansion led to cities slowly declining whereas suburbs showed promise and began to prosper as more people flocked to the suburbs.
