According to The Classic Car Club of America all cars build before 1959 were considered classics, because during those decades the automobile design was greatly revolutionized.

Some of the most famous car names are still recognized to this day, for example  the Oldsmobile Rocket 88 Convertible, the Chevrolet Corvette and Bel Air Convertibles, the Dodge B500 Hardtop, the Studebaker Golden Hawk and the Cadillac Convertible and Sevilleat were considered top of its class at the time and will always be remembered as some of the greatest cars ever build.

American design of the time was very prosperous because it build cars with “power”, one of these would be the Oldsmobile Rocket 88, in which a v8 engine was installed. This car was considered the fastest car on the road in 1950.

Another name that was very famous in the 50s automobile industry was Chevrolet.

Chevy’s Bel Air range became one of the most popular vehicles for American motorists with sales hitting the 100000 mark during 1951. Chevy kept its design the same with fins and chrome until 1957 when they came out with the splendid chevy bel air convertible model, who may i say was a great success.

The 1950s were full of smart car designers, but one of the greatest was Virgil Exner who made Dodge a primary builder of classic cars as we know today. Dodge has some of the best models we consider classic and all this thanks to great designers like Virgil Exner.

In 1957 Studebaker produced its Silver Hawk model, who satisfied the hunger of many american car fans, who were greatly impressed by its interior and exterior design. The Silver Hawk had plenty of varieties to tempt the dollars out of the wallets of the automobile loving public.

The last name i will mention is the Cadillac, who has never disappointed to this day, in 1957 the Cadillac Eldorado Brougham was retailing at an eye watering large amount of money for that time. The Cadillac range was associated with the stars of the era, and it will always be labelled a classic.
